53rd Braun+Design Fair 2026

This past weekend, the Braun+Design Fair 2026 took place for the 53rd time. With 38 exhibitors and nearly 600 visitors (among them the grandson of company founder Max Braun!), we enjoyed a wonderful event in glorious weather and a relaxed atmosphere. Gaetano provided authentic Italian pizza, and Imran served coffee from the Frankfurter Kaffeerösterei. Both exhibitors and visitors were thoroughly satisfied. This year again, the two modules of our 1955 trade-fair stand were on display on the platform in front of Building 10. Inside the more than 70-year-old stand, historical images from the archive of the Ulm School of Design (Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm, HfG) were shown on a monitor. Dr. Mäntele, the curator of the Ulm archive, together with Ben Wilson, presented the school's former collaboration with Braun as part of a guided tour through the collection. In two further tours, Till Winkler explained the history of Braun, Braun design, and our special exhibition "Braun durchschauen" featuring transparent housings of Braun devices. This exhibition sheds light on the work of the developers and engineers. Many of the devices come from the collection of Alwin and Uli Zenkel, who made them available to us for the exhibition and were actively involved in it. The exhibition can be seen until May of next year. The signing session with Sophie Lovell unfortunately had to be cancelled due to illness. However, she would be happy to make up for it at the next fair. The fair and its programme required a great deal of preparation time and dedication from the members of the Förderkreis BraunSammlung and from all departments at the Kronberg site. And few people know that Ele and Nils Rohde begin contacting exhibitors months in advance, handling the bookings and accommodating any special requests. Without the help of dedicated non-members and members in setting up and dismantling the furniture, staffing the cash desk and the Förderkreis table, the fair would not be possible in such a rich form. Our heartfelt thanks, also on behalf of the board, go to them all! After the fair is before the fair. The date for the 54th event next year in Kronberg in 2027 has not yet been set, but will be announced in good time.
